Annual Community Day
Cooperatives work for the sustainable development of the communities we serve. We operate according to a core set of principles, and in October WWVREMC and co-ops throughout Indiana will embrace the seventh principle "Concern for Community" during the fourth annual Indiana's Electric Cooperative Community Day.
WWVREMC's annual Community Day was held at Whitewater Memorial State Park on Thursday, October 12th. WWVREMC's staff, directors and employee family members helped decorate for the Spooktacular event. We also cleaned up trash around the campground and other areas of the park, cut and hauled brush, and cut back trees from the main entrance roadway.
This was the fourth year we have worked in the park.
Past projects completed include:
- cutting back evasive species along trails - weeding - trash clean up along the shoreline and hiking trails - painting crosswalks - painting the entrance of the park office - cutting trees away from roadways inside the park - decorating for Spooktacular
Last year, WWVREMC employees also volunteered at the Union Co. 4-H and Youth League area.
Projects completed included:
- wiring the show barn - hanging a new sign - hauling and spreading mulch around the playground area
