Annual Meeting News
Join Us August 13 for a Facebook Live Meeting

Whitewater Valley REMC will not hold a face to face annual meeting in 2020. In its place, we invite you to join us for a virtual meeting on Facebook Live Thursday, August 13 at 1 p.m. through WWVREMC’s Facebook page. Members will receive voting information in July in a separate mailing. All votes received by the voting deadline on Tuesday, August 11 will count towards a quorum for the meeting and be entered in the prize drawing. During the video, the results of the 2020 board of directors and nominating committee elections will be announced. If you haven't received your ballot by August 1, please contact us.

New voting method for the board of directors and nominating committee

WWVREMC’s members will vote for directors and nominating committee members by mail. This voting method is new for the 2020 election of directors and nominating committee members. Ballots will be mailed to all members on Monday, July 20. Included with the ballot are instructions on how to vote, board candidate information, voting deadline, and a postage-paid return envelope. Voting will begin on Monday, July 20. All votes are counted by an independent third party and are completely confidential.

"We understand that members are trying to get back to ‘normal’ living as we all resume our work, school, sports, worship, and many other schedules that have been altered during the pandemic. The board of directors' decision for an online meeting with mail-in voting seemed to be the best choice given all we know at this time. The new format and voting option also satisfy the cooperative’s bylaw requirements of the annual meeting and election of directors and nominating committee members.

Once again I want to express my sincere appreciation to WWVREMC leadership for the flexibility and resilience as we all navigated a very uncertain time, and to the members for your patience as we postponed, cancelled, rescheduled, and changed a WWVREMC tradition – the Whitewater Valley REMC Annual Meeting."
